1:10 Teams without boards
In this lesson we will add the teams respectively ARTs and or Solution Trains to this PI. To do so click on “Search for ART / ST”. Select the ART. It will bring in the teams in the order that we defined under Organization earlier. Now let’s say we have a team where we already know that it will have a lot of dependencies and so it would make sense to place this team’s swim lane in the middle of the Program Board so that not the majority of the lines span across the whole board. We can now make these small adjustments. Just drag the team to the middle. This will not change our default structure that we set under Organization but it lets us modify it for this specific PI session. We can also add additional teams to this ART spontaneously if needed. Now this is already the second of the two things that you need to get right in the first run of creating your PI session. We can’t change the order of the teams once we are through with this setup. Okay. Maybe you noticed the other tab called “Teams without boards”. What is that? To understand what this is for, it’s important to know that users logging in to the planning environment can only see sessions that their team is a part of. Now let’s assume we have a team that should be able to follow the planning flow but is not part of an ART, hence should not have a team board nor swim lane on the Program Board. Yeah in this case we add it here. Then press “next”.
This 10 lessons course shows you, the RTE & STE on how to set up the RTE Cockpit for PI Planning sessions from the fundamentals to advanced tips. After watching this course you will be able to manage ARTs, invite Users, connect your ALM tool, and prepare a PI session.
